International Freight

  1. International pallet deliveries are sent using Logistics companies that will pay for logistics carrier to collect with a forklift or tail lift to load onto a lorry from the pick up destination.
The pallet must be secured with plastic and without sharp edges and specified whether load can be placed on top of the pallet or if a load cannot be placed on top of the pallet i.e. fragile consignments must be noted.
For Alcohol, the country of manufacture, alcohol percentage and value must be stated clearly on the invoice. The Export invoice must also be placed onto the pallet and secured in order for the consignment to easily be processed.

  2. The Pallet is sent via Air Freight or Sea Freight subject to the request. Transit time can vary and variation for flight cancellations / delays or failed customs inspections must be accounted for.
Transit time can vary subject to warehouse clearance and the time of year. Periods of holiday including Easter, Summer and End of Year can cause delays to shipments and processing due to reduced workforces in Logistics.

  3. A customs broker must be appointed that deals with customs clearance, commodity codes and organisation of transportation from customs holding in order to avoid delays & errors being made on declarations.
Once a customs broker issues the fee to be paid for clearance, 1-2 working days are usually recommended as a guideline for the transportation from customs to the end destination.

  4. In the event of customs seizure or failed customs, the retailer or sender is not held responsible or liable for lost shipments or seized goods. It is important that customs regulations in each country or state are checked prior to orders being placed for International Freight. Consumer regulations apply within the specified country of delivery and forfeiture of UK Consumer Rights ceases outside of the border of the UK.
