Tomintoul 37 Year Old Reserve Limited Edition Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2014) 75cl
Made for the US market and not previously released in the UK
This 37-year-old single malt whisky from Tomintoul is a testament to the art of long-term maturation. Crafted in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, it embodies the region's reputation for producing some of the world's finest and most elegant whiskies. The extended aging process has allowed the spirit to develop a remarkable depth and complexity, making it a true connoisseur's choice.
On the nose, this whisky offers a sophisticated bouquet of aromas, with hints of aged oak, dried fruits, and a subtle floral undertone. The palate is equally impressive, delivering a rich and layered experience. Expect flavors of dark chocolate, luxurious sherry, and a touch of antique leather, all harmoniously balanced to create a smooth and satisfying sip.
The finish is long and dignified, leaving a lasting impression of old oak and gentle spices. This whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to fully appreciate its intricate flavors and aromas. It is a perfect choice for those who appreciate the finer things in life and seek a whisky that tells a story of time and craftsmanship.
Tasting Notes
NOSE A weightless aroma of fruit, sauternes (yellow raisins), cocoa, malt, smarties, chalk and dark sweets. By far the most complex aroma of the Tomintouls we had at the tasting, but still not amazing.
PALATE Dainty notes of apricots, malt, Chocolate Necco Wafers, orange peel and oak float on through. Again, it’s a bit more complex than any of the other single malts represented that night, but not wildly so.
FINISH Medium fade of Malt, chocolate orange and Necco Wafers.
