For the 2022 Islay Jazz Festival, Lagavulin released this single malt, exclusively available from the distillery during the annual event. Matured in American oak, this whisky was finished in brandy seasoned hogsheads before a total of 3,000 bottles were released at 14 years old.

With over a decade of maturation, and the brandy seasoned cask finish adds an extra dimension to an already sweet Lagavulin. The finish removes the harsher, dry notes, producing the finest balance of soft sweetness and powerful smoke.

About Lagavulin

Lagavulin distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Lagavulin on the island of Islay, Scotland.

The standard Lagavulin single malt is 16 years old (43%), though they regularly release a 12-year-old cask strength variety, a Distiller's edition finished in Pedro Ximénez casks and 25- and 30-year-old varieties.

Lagavulin was owned by United Distillers & Vintners, which has now become part of Diageo plc.

The name of Lagavulin is an anglicization of the Gaelic lag a'mhuilin, meaning "hollow by the mill".
