Apples are a strong symbol for Nikka and often associated with the relationship between Rita and Masataka Taketsuru: they began their business with the production of apple juices and jams while they waited for their first whiskeys to mature.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eTasting Notes \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNose : rich, deep. First, a thin dusting of ash covers the apples that have just been removed from the oven. Peat takes over, alternating between dry and oily and bringing a stark contrast to the aromatic palette. Gradually, these scents and intense smoke appear with Yoichi's style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePalate : fine, complex. Unlike the nose, the attack is noticeably fruity (candied apple and pear), a light peat accumulates around the flavor palette. On the palate, the aromatic herbs (lemon balm and chervil) are evidence of a wonderful herbaceous development. In the end, nuts and apples close the tasting journey.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinish : long, round. Perfectly balanced, with notes of liquorice and vanilla, grapefruit and lemon zest bring some liveliness to the finish as the peat dries onto straw. Dried fruit (almond, hazelnut and date) and toasted bread aromas complement each other perfectly on the nose.
