After he expanded his syndicate the Society was purchased by Glenmorangie PLC in 2004. In 2015, the Society was sold back to private investors. In June 2021, the private owners floated the holding company The Artisanal Spirits Company plc on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has a unique code system where the first number refers to the distillery and the second refers to the cask from which the bottle comes. SMWS also offers the largest range of distilleries of any independent bottler. On the palate it was succulent and gently spiced, like a Moroccan-spiced strawberry jam combining a fruity sweetness with savoury ginger, cumin, cinnamon and cloves. Following reduction, a bouquet of herbs came to the fore alongside the scent of sweet candy shell-glazed strawberries. The taste was just like a hanky-panky cocktail of gin, Italian vermouth and fernet served in a glass filled with cracked ice and garnished with orange peel. At two years of age, we combined selected casks from the same distillery into a variety of different casks to develop further. Brecon Gin was awarded \"Gold Best in Class\" at the International Wines \u0026amp; Spirits Competition in 2011. Penderyn Distillery is situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park and sells internationally to markets such as Taiwan, Australia, France and USA.[citation needed] The company opened up a visitors centre in June 2008, with Charles, then Prince of Wales leading the proceedings.
