Vatted and 8 years old isn’t always the best vehicle to carry 60% abv, but try telling that to North Star. It’s very apparent that this is small batch batting coming from only two Sherry butts. Sherry driven, Sherry nose, Sherry plate, Sherry finish. Then comes the alcohol and brings cooling freshness without burning. Pleasant notes of tobacco, leather, cherries and some wild berries. Plus a little smoke.
