It went a little crazy. We still had some of the stock from David to make some more, so that’s what we did.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat is a mega blend? Well, we felt Blended Malt Scotch Whisky didn’t quite do justice to the mega malts in this blend so, you know, MEGA BLEND!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo what is it then? Like the WBEC blend we’ve used whiskies from all of the Campbeltown Distilleries currently in production.\u003cbr\u003e9 year old Glen Scotia, 12 and 16yo Kilkerran and 10 and 21yo Springbank.\u003cbr\u003e1st fill bourbon and refill sherry casks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhy, why would we do this!?\u003cbr\u003eWell 2 reasons.\u003cbr\u003e1) That was the deal to get the stock, it could only be for blending.\u003cbr\u003e2) We wanted people to drink it.\u003cbr\u003eAt LBD we are whisky lovers. We got so into this incredible spirit because we love exploring it, learning more and developing our knowledge and palates. It’s very hard to do that by ballot, queuing overnight outside a shop\/distillery or chasing bottles at auction. We wanted to remind people why these Campbeltown distilleries are so highly coveted, by creating a blend that allows people to actually drink it, a cask strength celebration of Kintyre’s finest at a fair price.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has been a lot of fun to make this, we really hope you have as much fun enjoying it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCask strength, non chill filtered, natural colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJust what we wanted from an all Campbeltown expression, oily, viscous, mouth coating whisky. Dunnage funk, a little salinity and a finish that lasts as long as the bus ride back to Glasgow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe label, it takes some explanation. Dairy cows, this is what you get on a whisky label from a farmer and a former vet. Dairy because there’s still lots of dairy cows on Kintyre. 3 different cows, for the 3 different distilleries. Green background for the green grass, but also a chilling reminder of the green screen video we did with David (look it up on youtube, or you know, don’t). Oh yeah and we didn’t want to call it Wee Broon Electric Coo 2 but instead wanted a less than subtle nod to it.
