After this point we saw huge changes in how Bowmore was marketed to the world. The launch of Black Bowmore in 1993, arguably, signalled the induction of whisky as a collectable asset. Suntory bought Morrison-Bowmore outright in 1994. Following this was the launch of Bowmore 15 Darkest in 1999, and the eventual release of the oldest and most sought-after Bowmore stocks to the world. There was also the change in distillate style after Suntory became involved, with the pre1990 stock of Bowmore always being given the ‘lavender’ moniker.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBowmore \u003cspan\u003edistilled in the 60s and 70s has legendary status amongst those who love their Islay \/ peated whiskies.
