That classic Ardbeg smoke combines beautifully with the coconut and stone fruit sweetness of the cask influence, with unique herbal hints underneath.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eTasting Notes\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNose : Very distinctively oily, with touches of extra virgin olive oil, sweet briar wood, aromatic herbs (coriander \u0026amp; sage) and a suggestion of smoked lemon peel. A splash of water releases more oiliness, like linseed oil, a gentle waxiness, and a burst of perfumed, aromatic carbolic soap, and finally, a whiff of crème brulee.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePalate : A soft, oily, mouthcoating texture leads into a rich, sweet, smoky palate, with hints of oak moss, treacle, aniseed lozenges and a lovely, sweet, woody\/balsamic flavour. This is then followed by smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinish : Finally comes a lingering, sweet\/smoky aftertaste, with a touch of cumin, cardamon and the merest hint of coconut.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAbout Ardbeg \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eArdbeg distillery has been producing whisky since 1798. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky. The distillery uses malted barley sourced from the maltings in Port Ellen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall. But Whisky was distilled there long before that. There are no documentations, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794. The distillery is now owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), which also owns Glenmorangie distillery in the Highlands of Scotland.
